One of the main benefits of conveyor hubs is that their configuration allows the belt to adapt to the shape of the material, thereby reducing the amount of impact on the roller and thus extending the life of roller. This becomes an important feature mainly in continuous mining applications where movable conveyors are used and track alignment differs from fixed conveyors with rigid steel foundations. As a result, the hubs are more "flexible" in terms of belt guidance.
The GCS spline rollers are connected by flexible links and are fixed to the conveyor frame by means of special suspension elements.
The rollers can also be easily changed by lifting the idler set from the mounting hooks or by activating the quick-release device. This is an indispensable advantage, especially in impact areas where it is not necessary to lift the belt in order to change the idler pulley or to dismantle the superstructure.
